General Description

KS—ⅡType Rapid Plastimeter has couple of movable plates which automatically press the test pieces. The plates temperature is maintained at 100℃. Firstly, the test piece (between two circular anvils) is compressed to 1mm for 15 sec. Then the test piece is further compressed with additional 100N for another 15 sec. At last, the thickness of test piece is measured (to the nearest 0.01mm) that is plasticity value. It conforms to ISO2007, ISO2930.

Application

KS—ⅡType Rapid Plastimeter is used to measure the PLASTICITY RETENTION INDEX (PRI) of raw rubbers, to determine the plasticity or viscosity of un-vulcanized rubber.

 

Specification

Operated temperature: 100℃ (steam at atmospheric pressure);

Test time: less than 1 minute including preparing specimen;

The oven temperature is automatically controlled at 140℃±0.2℃. the oven has 16 chambers of testing;

Electric supply: 220V AC 50HZ single phase.

 

Main Features

The test is fully automatic once the test piece is inserted. The operators need not have to special training. The reading is locked stationary in KS—ⅡType Rapid Plastimeter.

 

Test for PRI

PRI is measure of resistance of raw natural rubber to oxidation. Oxidation effect is assessed quantitatively by measuring viscosity (plasticity) in KS—ⅡType Rapid Plastimeter.

 

Plasticity is measured before and after ageing for 30 minutes at 140℃.

Three sizes of upper plates are supplied: 7.3mm, 10mm and 14mm diameters. They permit the instrument to operate satisfactorily over wide plasticity range. The low plate is suitable for all sizes.
